Autosport Podcast: Does Mercedes really have no hope in Mexico?

The latest edition of The Autosport Podcast delves into Lewis Hamilton’s suggestion that Mercedes has “no hope” of challenging Ferrari on the straights in Formula 1’s Mexican Grand Prix.

In our preview to the race, Scott Mitchell, Jack Benyon and Edd Straw discuss whether Ferrari should again be expected to set the pace in qualifying and, if so, what chance Mercedes – or even Red Bull – has of challenging in the race.

There’s also a look at the recent ructions with rival engine manufacturers questioning the way Ferrari is delivering its formidable power.

With F1’s star crop of rookies excelling this year, we also attempt to decide which of George Russell, Lando Norris and Alex Albon have had the strongest season – with an honourable mention for Antonio Giovinazzi.

And as the plan for three reversed-grid qualifying races has not been approved for 2020, we ask if that’s a good or bad thing for Formula 1.
