Mercedes finally responded to Ferrari’s post-summer break Formula 1 supremacy at the Japanese Grand Prix with some major car updates.
While Ferrari maintained its edge in qualifying, tardy starts from Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc handed the lead to Valtteri Bottas – whose dominant victory by 13.343 seconds demonstrated that the new parts have made Mercedes even stronger in race trim.
